Description
NB Instructional Technician - Dibels. Lane 1 - $10.84 per hour. 5.75 hours/day, 5 days/week, 45 days/year. Technicians will work 6 hours a day for 30 or more days during the school year (first two weeks of September and May, last two weeks of January). Must be 18 years of age to apply. There are no benefits with this position. Technicians will administer benchmark reading assessments to students. A two day paid training session in August will be required. This is a technician that assists on the DIBEL's team to assess students on their academic progress, will need to follow protocol in testing administration, and have good listening skills. Will be assessing in Reading, Writing, and some Mathematics. Usually used 3 times a year for about 3 weeks at each testing session. Willing to travel between schools each day. Job Requirements: Abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse groups; maintaining confidentiality; working as part of a team; and working with frequent interruptions. Knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: concepts of grammar and punctuation; age appropriate activities; health and safety standards. Skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practiced; operating standard office equipment including computers and pertinent software applications; and preparing and maintaining accurate records. The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 40% sitting, 30% walking and 30% standing. The job is performed under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
