Description
NB Motor Development Technicians. Lane 2, $12.25/hour. 5.75 hours/day, 5 days/week, 177 days/year for the 2018-2019 school year. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply. There are no benefits with this position. Will provide motor development services to students with a wide range of disabilities under the direction of licensed Occupational and Physical Therapists. Motor Development technicians to assist OT and PT in providing direct services to students with disabilities with gross and fine motor needs. Ability to collect and report data to a supervisor. Technician will provide support to students under the direction of the Occupational and Physical Therapist. Will provide motor development services to students with a wide range of disabilities to assist students in meeting their motor development goals. Ability to collect data for charting. Will work in various locations throughout the district. Will need to provide own transportation between work sites; travel between schools is reimbursed at the district rate. Job Requirements: Abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: working with detailed information/data, communicating with diverse groups, maintaining confidentiality, working as part of a team,establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: concepts of grammar and punctuation. Skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices, operating equipment used in operating standard office equipment, preparing and maintaining accurate records, physically fit and able to safely lift and provide support and stability to students while providing motor development training. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10% sitting, 30% walking, and 60% standing. The job is performed in a generally hazard free environment.
