Description
Transportation Systems Manager. Lane 9 - $21.05 per hour. 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, 260 days per year. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply. Oversees installation and maintenance of video and GPS systems. Oversees summer deep cleaning of buses and performs random cleaning inspections for the purpose of motivating drivers to maintain their vehicles in a sanitary, clean, safe and attractive condition. Participates in department meetings, in-service trainings, workshops, and accident investigations. Will serve as a State Third Party Tester for CDL's for the purpose of helping drivers meet their mandatory certification requirements. Performs administrative duties for the purpose of resolving issues related to the management, discipline and evaluation of employees. Coordinates student transportation activities with school administrators, drivers and other groups. Performs the duties of a school bus driver or attendant when needed. Prepares reports for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, conveying information, and/or complying with established guidelines. Responds to calls and concerns from parents, bus drivers, attendants, and others for the purpose of maintaining an efficient and effective transportation department. The Transportation Systems Manager reports to the Supervisor of Transportation. Applicants should bring in resume to Cliff Jex. Job Requirements: Abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities. Knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: safe driving practices; provisions of the Utah Motor Vehicle Code and the Utah Education Code applicable to the operation of vehicles transporting school students; and State licensing requirements. Skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment; using pertinent software applications; operating heaving and light duty vehicles; and preparing and maintaining accurate records. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 50% sitting, 20% walking, and 30% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
