Description |
|
|
Instructional Technician – SPED Cluster Unit. Lane 2, $13.58/hour, 5.25 hours/day, 5 days/week, 177 days/year. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply. There are no benefits with this position. Placement on the salary schedule will be reviewed by the immediate supervisor during the interview process and finalized through the Human Resource and Payroll Departments. Will assist in the supervision, care and instruction of students with significant disabilities under the supervision of a certificated teacher; observe and document student progress; implement educational and specific behavioral plans; document students’ daily activities; model appropriate behaviors and interactions with students and staff; and assist students by providing for special health care needs. Job Requirements: Abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: communicating with diverse groups including children with limited verbal skills; displaying compassion and patience; maintaining confidentiality; and working as part of a team. Knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: safety practices and procedures and stages of child development/ behavior. Skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: preparing and maintaining accurate records; adhering to safety practices; and administering first aid. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing. The job is performed under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness. |
